One of the first changes for 2009 I decided to introduce - is Google Adsense. Whilst I hoped to keep the site commercial free - I recognize that it costs time and money to keep it going. Hence my decision to introduce some form of advertisement. I will strive to keep the commercial aspect as unobtrusive as possible.

Well it has been a while since I actively maintained the Wiki. I will attempt to add some new material in this year. It can be so much better if we all do this together. Go ahead you can write an article - share your experience!

Admin 15:58, 15 November 2007 (CST)
- The side bar to the left of the Main Page was reorganized. A change to take note of is the addition of a "create content" section because many new users wonder how they can create articles.

Admin 15:28, 5 November 2007 (CST)
- Well in an ongoing attempt to make registration easier - I have now started to use the "Confirm Account" extension. That means that anybody can request an account directly on the CICS Wiki without having to email the Admin user. It also provides for better privacy because I never see your password - the Wiki mails it out and then you have to change it at first sign on attempt. Lets see how this works - I believe it is a step forward.
Admin 12:33, 26 October 2007 (CDT)
- I have had a lot of people that seem confused about the fact that they need the Admin user to create an id for them. This was done to prevent bots from registering. I recently implemented a simple extension that should prevent bots from registering. So for now registering to the CICS Wiki has been opened up. If this fails to prevent bots we might have to close it up again.
Admin 12:33, 26 October 2007 (CDT)
- I have simplified the ribbon of approval award token. If you want to award somebody's work - include this template in the article: {{CICS_Wiki:Award}}.
- Earl gets this week's award for a great home page and for creating the Vendor Category.
- Earl also added a good example of how a vendor page could look. Check it out at BatchCICS-Connect_-_24x7_Integration.

Admin 12:33, 26 October 2007 (CDT)
- The news feed is finally working - try it at http://cicswiki.org/cicswiki1/index.php?title=NewsFeed&feed=rss . You need a news reader to take full advantage of the feature.
