Software location

The software installation package can be located on IBM's web site if you have Passport Advantage or otherwise - contact your local IBM representative.

In the folder - execute the launchpad.exe file:

Choosing which role to install

The first screen that the user is presented with - will allow him to choose the RD/z software installation.

On the next screen - the developer should pick the option to install all roles.

The following splash screen will appear for a few seconds.

Select the "Rational Developer for System z" option and click "Next".

Choosing where to install the software

Select where on the computer to install the software and click "Next". Note that you will need about 20GB of space to install the product.

On this screen you can select whether you want to add this installation to an existing Eclipse installation. It is recommended that you install the product in its own Eclipse installation. Therefore - just click Next on this screen.

Click Next on the language selection screen.

Selecting the options to install

Select all options to be installed and click next.

On the Installation summary screen - click Install

Starting the installation

The installation will start and a progress bar will be visible.

After the installation has completed - the following screen should be visible. Click the Finish button.

Exit the original wizard screen and locate RD/z in the Windows Taskbar under:

"IBM Software delivery platform" -> "IBM Rational Developer for System z" -> "IBM Rational Developer for System z"
