COBOL

Cobol is a so called 3GL programing language. Cobol is an acronym and mean COmon Business Oriented Language. According to GARTNER it is the most used programing language in the mainframe world. You may also look at http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Software/Gaming/Software/1732.html. I don't know for myself but all of my clients in the past use Cobol to develop their appplication.

According to Tom Ross (IBM Santa Teresa): COBOL is the Language of the Future! I agree with him!!!
In the latest version I was able to invoke a Java application via Cobol of course on the mainframe.
